We will review details of how actively tracking post-operative symptoms can help to promptly identify patients with sub-optimal pain experiences and offer providers an opportunity to intervene and practice person-centered care.

Learn about participating in a new National Dental PBRN study seeking to better understand patients’ postoperative dental pain experience by using a mobile health text messaging platform that periodically assesses pain in the first twenty-one days following their dental procedures.

Learning Objectives
1. Participants will understand the concept of person-centered care and how
mHealth technology can be used to monitor patients’ pain during the acute
post-operative phase.
2. Participants will learn how providers can use patient reported outcomes to improve communication and patient pain management following dental
procedures.
3. Participants will learn about the study goals of a new National Dental PBRN Post-operative pain study, and benefits to practitioners and patients who participate.
