In its interim guidance, the American Dental Association recommends that some dental patients undergo testing for COVID-19 before undergoing aerosol-generating procedures in certain situations. As a result, some dentists have expressed concerns about burdening hospitals by sending patients to be tested. Dr. Dave Preble and Dr. Marcelo Araujo explain why the ADA made this recommendation during a time when testing may be difficult to come by.
