This week, January 11 – January 16, 2016 came with two major updates from Google.

First, Google announced that Panda is now part of Google’s core ranking algorithm. Google’s Gary Illyes also verified through Twitter that the update is not in real time for both Panda and the overall algorithm. Now that Panda has been consolidated into the core ranking algorithm, it’ll be interesting to see how this will affect the SERP.

Secondly, Google recently released a major core ranking algorithm update, which many webmasters didn’t initially notice at first. Many anticipated a Penguin update but that doesn’t seem to be the case. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about this algorithm update.
